How to Enhance Smaller Eyes Using Cosmetics
You don't have to be any magician to create flawless illusions. As a former model I picked up all sorts of little tricks from the various make-up artists I worked with. They would say their most often used trick in their magic bags is to "use the powers of light and dark to illuminate the good and hide the bad". Such drama queens they are. But they are true goddesses of illusion.
What you will require for this little exercise is: Dark brown or black pencil or liquid eyeliner White pencil or liquid eyeliner Lash curler Mascara (brown-black, black or charcoal) Light frost eye shadow Medium color matte eye shadow Always apply eye shadow first before liner or mascara. Brush a light frost eye shadow on the brow just under the eyebrow.
I like to use yellow. (Only use gold or white if you are going out at night because it comes off as a little harsh.) The yellow really opens up the eyes and it makes me glow. For a little added glamour, or as I call it my sly sexy look, I dab a bit on the inner corners of my eyes (and maybe a dab on the highest point in my cheekbone!). Take the medium color matte eye shadow and sweep it on the outer half of the eyelid for contour.
If you wish to use dark eye shadow, use it only in the outside corner area and sparingly. Remember, dark hides and shrinks. Next the liner. Start with a fine line from the inner corner of your eye as close as you can get to your eyelash. As you past the midway point of your eyelid, make the line thicker. Extend your liner beyond the corner of your eye a little to open your eye. This will make your lashes look thicker and longer.
For even more of an open-eye look, line the inside rim of your lower eye with white liner. Never completely surround your eyes in a dark liner if you have small eyes; this is counterproductive. One makeup artist did this to me once. And I do mean only once. And finally for lush luxurious lashes, curl them. Then the mascara. Apply one coat on your eyelashes.
Wait a few minutes to see the effect. Then apply second or a third coat to darken your eyelashes more. This will make your eyes look larger as well. Use lighter shades of eye shadow or a slight shimmer on your lid to really open your eyes, and also use an iridescent highlighter under your brow. We use the dark to diminish and light to enhance.
These are a few tricks that can create the illusion of having bigger eyes. Have fun discovering your new colors. Katie MoranKatie's Wellness & Beauty Corner www.monstergiftstore.com

Should You Go For Discount Make-up?
We are all aware of the fact that most women cannot do without make-up. Although numerous manufacturers are creating a wide variety of make-up to suit every skin type and every budget, you cannot deny the fact that majority of women are afraid to purchase cheap or discount make-ups for fear of having allergic reactions or skin related problems from the use of these products.
While it holds true that most expensive cosmetics are of the finest quality and you are definitely getting your money's worth with your purchase, there are still certain products that may not suit your skin type.
Although almost all of the cosmetic products are created to be hypoallergenic, there are still remote instances when your skin reacts to it with frequent breakouts with the occurrences of pimples or blemishes. I, for one am a victim of this. I had bought a cosmetic product from an expensive brand and yet my skin didn't react well to it.
Due to the existence of competition and the desire to capture a big chunk in the market, the cosmetic industry has flooded stores and shops with numerous types and brands of make-up that is cheap and very easy on the budget.
A big amount of a woman's expense goes to keeping herself beautiful and that includes the purchase of make-up. But with the rising prices in commodities, quite often most women especially those who have families and who do not have high paying jobs are having a hard time allotting a portion of their money for cosmetic related products when they have other expenses to attend to at home.
Now, the big question is whether these discount make-ups are safe. Basically the answer is nobody knows. Though a big portion of the women's population would say yes they are not safe because of the ingredients they may contain, I personally think that not all of them are. I suppose it's a matter of finding the right one that suits your skin type.
I strongly suggest though that you be wary on trying them on and do not just buy at an impulse without maybe securing a sample or getting positive recommendations from family or friends who may have used it. If you are really not sure the best option would be to consult an expert.
Also, most well known brands of cosmetics are pricing their products at competitive and affordable prices. You could also wait when they have sales or discounts. In this manner you would be able to save on your make-up expense.

Skin Care Tips For Dry Skin
If you are among the many people who suffer from dry skin, you will be eager to learn the best methods available for keeping your skin hydrated for as long as possible.
Dry skin is especially a problem during the winter months where the lack of moisture causes the skin to itch and makes skin care a more difficult challenge. Women who have dry skin cannot wear make-up the way they would like to, as this would lead to further drying of the skin. However, with a little care and a lot of patience, dry skin can be maintained as beautiful and supple as moist and normal skin.
The 1-2-3 Method of Skin Care For Dry Skin
1. Cleanse and exfoliate the skin - The first step in any skin care regime is to start by cleaning the skin. Since the dry skin will have a lot of dead cell accumulation on its surface, it will also require exfoliation along with the cleansing. It is only after the dead skin cells are removed, that any cream make-up can be applied.
2. Moisturize the skin - Because dry skin lacks moisture, wrinkling of the skin is likely to occur. In order to keep the skin smooth, moisturizer will need to applied regularly. You will notice that after a few hours, the moisturizer tends to disappear and your skin becomes dry again. To prevent this, you may need to use a little glycerin; just a few drops can make a huge difference in helping to keep the skin moisturized.
3. Nourishing the skin - The dry skin is always starving. This is why its skin care will have to include a fair amount of rich nourishing night cream. This will help to restore its health and keep it nourished. This is best applied at night before going to bed because it is at this time that the skin is free from dust and other pollution particles, and it can absorb sufficient nutrition.
If you would like to have youthful looking skin in spite of having dry skin, you will need to stick to this routine religiously. Avoid wearing cosmetics as much as possible, since this will further dry and damage the skin. If you do need to apply cosmetics, be sure that they are removed before you go to bed at night.
Also, remember to add a sufficient amount of moisturizer to compensate for the loss that occurs during the day. During the day, try to keep your face out of direct sunlight. Wear a sun visor and use a sunscreen with an SPF rating of 30 or higher to keep your skin protected from the UV rays of the sun.
Having healthy, moisturized skin, will require a great deal of care on a regular basis. But, if you stick to a routine maintenance schedule, you can overcome the problem of dry skin.

When Your Eyes Hates Their Lashes Eye
Do you know what lives in your eyelashes? Small creatures and non-hygienic habits can harm your eyes. Here you can find how to treat your eye properly, starting from taking a good care of your eyelashes.
Because long eyelashes are considered as a sign of femininity in most cultures, the easiest way to create female cartoon characters is just to put eyelashes on their eyes. Snoopy's sister, Belle looks like him but has longer eyelashes.
Physically, eyelashes protect the eye from debris and perform some of the same function as whiskers do on a cat or a mouse in the sense that they are sensitive to being touched, thus providing a warning that an object (such as an insect or dust mote) is near the eye, which is then closed reflexively.
Eyelashes vs Eye rash
As it is much more comfortable than curling lashes and using mascara every time before leaving home, applying false eyelashes becomes a popular way to get glamour eyes. However, false eyelashes also need hygienic care to avoid side effects after applying them. In non-hygienic circumstance, rash can occur in any part of body, even eyes.
Parasites
Do you know what lives in your eyelashes? The small creatures called "Demodicid" is a tiny mite, less than 0.4 mm. long, that lives in your pores and hair follicles, usually on the nose, forehead, cheek, and chin, and often in the roots of your eyelashes.
People with oily skin, or those who use cosmetics heavily and don't wash thoroughly, have the heaviest infestations. Inflammation and infection often result when large numbers of these mites congregate in a single follicle. Large numbers of demodex mites may cause itching and skin disorders.
"Crab lice are wingless, about 1 to 3 mm long. They attach themselves to hair strands, and hatch out of pods with lids. Ones that are too tightly attached to be brushed off must be removed by pulling with the nails or a fine tooth-comb.
The crab louse can live in almost any form of human hair, but is found most commonly in pubic hair. Its legs are adapted to climbing along relatively widely spaced hairs, and so it can be found in eyebrows, eyelashes, pubic hair, beards, moustaches, and even armpit hair. The louse feeds on blood and can leave irritating spots on the skin, sometimes mistaken for pimples.
Side Effect from Fake Eyelash Glue
The fake eyelash glue can cause inflammation, rash, and scales around eyelids. In some cases, lymph pimples may occur.
Weak Eyelash Pores
Supporting more weight from false eyelashes all the time, eyelash pores can become weakened which causes the eyelashes to fall easily.
Enhancing Beauty with No Risk
Before applying permanent or non-permanent false eyelash, consider:
Hygienic beauty shops with skilled staff - The shops must also provide high-quality false eyelashes glue.
Irritation occurring with eyes - If there are some irritation such as rash, itching, or skin disorders occurring with any area of eyes, wait until the symptom is cured.
Period of eyelashes enhancement - Let eyes have a rest after each eyelashes enhancement in order to recover eyelash roots.
Allergy records - Those who have allergy records in eye tissue or often get eye sty should avoid eyelashes enhancement.
High - quality mascara - Use high quality mascara and brush only one time to your eyelashes. Wait until the first brushing dry out before apply the second one in order to avoid making eyelashes stick together.
Eye-makeup remover - To clean eye areas, eye make-up remover is the best thing for removing mascara without any irritation. It is not suggested to apply facial cleanser or cosmetic remover because it is harmful to eyelids.

How To Get Rid of Pimples
The prevention of pimples and acne is a debate that has gone on for quite a while and will continue to do so as long as people get acne and zits. How to get rid of pimples, a question asked by adolescents and adults in all age ranges. We know the best way to get rid of zits and acne is to prevent them in the first place. We will look at ways to prevent zits and acne before they actually set in and take hold of your face or body.
If you happen to ask a lot of people what is the best way to get rid of and to prevent acne and pimples they will tell you to eat a well-balanced diet, they will also tell you to stay away from greasy foods and chocolate because this will worsen your acne. It has never been proven that a poor diet will cause acne but your best bet would be to stay away from greasy and high in fat foods . Since there is no way to determine if the type of food you eat is a determining factor of whether you get acne and zits or not it is better to play it safe than sorry.
There is a lot of research being done right now to see if lasers will help in the prevention of acne. It is known that lasers have helped people who at one time had really bad acne and now have scars resulting from the zits and acne. The use of lasers is something that has not been definitively proven to prevent pimples and acne so if you're considering this consult your dermatologist or physician.
If you have tried several over-the-counter drugs and they do not seem to be working for you a trip to the dermatologist may be worth a try. A dermatologist can prescribe antibiotics that will help with the prevention in some cases possibly cure acne.
There are also certain types of creams that can be applied to the affected areas they can also be prescribed by your dermatologist and can have wonderful effects on your skin. No matter what you do if the over-the-counter methods are not working for you make sure you speak with a dermatologist to assess your situation and get the best advice possible.
There will always be a lot of different advice that goes around on how to rid of acne and zits but if you do your best to eat right, take care of yourself, and consultant a dermatologist you should be able to come up with a solution to your acne and zits problem.

Rosacea: a frequently ignored disease
Rosacea is a very serious condition affecting especially North Americans from 30 to 50 years of age; it can lead to serious facial, ocular and emotional damages if overlooked. It usually affects women and is frequently ignored because people don't discuss about it or because doctors don't always identify it.
The neglecting of Rosacea is often caused by it atypical signs in the beginning, by its low appearance in the adolescence or at dark-skinned people. The most important sign of Rosacea is Rhinopema, usually seen in men.
About the physiopathology of Rosacea we know it's an inflammatory condition caused by some food and beverages, chemical, emotional and environmental triggers. The exact relation between Rosacea and stress is not known, but according to studies there is a strong link with Helicobacter Pylori, Demodex Folliculorum, migraines and infections.
Symptoms like face flushing can also occur in mastocitosis and carcinoma syndrome, when it has no particular triggers and is accompanied by cardiac, pulmonary and gastrointestinal factors.
Because they are often regarded as alcohol drinkers and also due to flushing, erythema and different pustules and papules, patients suffering from Rosacea tend to have very low self-esteem, suffer from anxiety and doubt themselves their capacity for work or sexual activity.
Rosacea can sometimes lead to ocular problems that could get to the stage of needing a corneal transplant. Patients with Rosacea should therefore consult a doctor as soon as possible, as well as people with intractable blepharities or conjunctivitis.
The first treatment stage is avoiding triggers for Rosacea, control sun exposure and use sun filters with simethicone and cyclometicone, avoid using irritating cosmetics.
Oral antibiotics like tetracycline, vibramicyne, metronidaole as well as local antibiotics like metronidazole cream or gel beastly handle pustular and papular Rosacea. Metronidazole can also reduce redness and teleangiectasia but can induce burning sensations to some patients. For pregnant women it can be replaced with clyndamicine as it produces fetus malformations. The gel or cream containing antibiotics should be applied on the entire surface of the face, not only on spots you consider have worse lesions.
Rosacea is a chronicle condition and therefore it needs to be monitorised frequently and requires a long-term treatment with metronidazole gel to keep symptoms under control.
